This is how it all started!

Hi All,
Welcome and happy new year from your Trade Guru, Pankaj Goel. I strongly believe there are no coincidences in life. These are signs from God. You being on this site is not a mere coincidence either, and there is a reason you are reading this. That reason may be to give you a moment of joy by making you laugh at the perceived silliness of these statements, or it could be that somehow there is something in here somewhere that you need or could use in your life.
I am starting on a journey of self discovery. Along the way, amongst other things, I would try to understand the underlying principles of how and why markets behave the way they do. However unconnected these things may seem the markets are driven by human behaviours, primarily around fear, greed & bhed-chaal (*1). I hope to find human behavioural patterns through this journey and find how these patterns connect together to form the socio-economic trends that eventually define the markets. I hope that you may find some of these patterns useful and be able to use them for things other than trading as well. I find some of these patterns very useful for understanding people and taking decisions as a manager.
I would catalogue that journey through blogs, video logs & my personal trade history. I would put my opinions, the trades I am putting in every day and rationale behind those trades in these logs. Please do not expect these logs to be solely focussed on trades though. As I said before it is a journey of self-discovery and I am not entirely sure what I may find on the way.
If you wish to accompany me on this journey, then please feel free to tag along and check this site regularly. If nothing else I would still be putting in the daily trades I am placing so you would have something to chew on even if you dont find answers to some greatest mysteries of life every day.
Meanwhile, I can sense that with the end of year 2009 the period of massive down turn in my life would end too and things would turn around from the day one of of year 2010. I hope the coming year brings the joy and success you wish for as well.
